PUBLIC HEARING SCHEDULE / PUBLIC COMMENT DEADLINE

Public Hearing Schedule
The Alaska Railroad, in concert with the Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC), will hold a series of public hearings in communities located along the railbelt from Seward to Anchorage. The public is invited to attend a public hearing to provide public comment and learn more about the Alaska Railroad's vegetation management program and the permitting process regulated by the ADEC.

Hearings start with a brief presentation, followed by public comment. An informal Q and A session will be held from 4 to 4:30 p.m. before the the public hearings. Public hearings will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The following is a list of scheduled public hearings:

Whittier: Monday, August 10
City Council Chambers
P-12 Bldg at the intersection of Whittier Street and Glacier Avenue

Seward: Tuesday, August 11
Seward Marine Center/RM Rae Education Building
125 3rd Avenue

Anchorage: Wednesday, August 12
Marriott Downtown Hotel
7th Avenue and "I" Street

To be considered, written comments must be submitted to the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) Pesticide Program at the address noted below, and must be received on or before September 15, 2009. More information on the public comment process can be found at the ADEC website at:
